Imagine a Sahara of pure white sand, carved by emerald freshwater lagoons that only exist for a few weeks each year. This is the Lençóis Maranhenses kitesurfing experience.
Unlike anywhere else on earth, these lagoons are formed by seasonal rainfall trapped between massive dunes. From June to July, the consistent NE tradewinds transform this desert into a kiteboarding playground with glass-flat water and endless transitions.
Atins is a place where time slows down. There are no paved roads, only sand tracks. Accessible only by boat or 4x4, it serves as our elite basecamp for the expedition.
