THE ADVENTURE

The Cape Town Experience

Blouberg is one of the world's most iconic kite spots — and for good reason. The Cape Doctor, Cape Town's legendary south-easterly wind, blows consistently and powerfully across Table Bay from November through February, delivering side-onshore conditions that are as close to perfect as the sport gets. Behind you, the granite face of Table Mountain. Beneath you, the cold, clear Atlantic.

Our January expedition places you in a private villa on the Blouberg beachfront, steps from the water. Coaching, meals, excursions, and the full majesty of the Mother City — all taken care of. All you bring is your riding ambition.

2027 Cape Town Departure Dates

Expedition Intel

Do I need to be advanced? expand_more
The Cape Doctor is a powerful wind — we recommend being comfortable riding upwind before joining. That said, Francesca works with all levels and runs structured progressions for intermediate riders. Complete beginners are also welcome; the sheltered sections of Blouberg offer ideal learning conditions. Apply to discuss your level →
Why January? expand_more
January sits right in the heart of Cape Town's summer — long sunny days, warm temperatures around 25–28°C, and the Cape Doctor blowing its famously strong and consistent south-easterly wind almost every afternoon. It is peak kite season, with conditions that attract professional riders from around the world.

Beyond the kite, January is when Cape Town is fully alive — the Winelands are lush and harvest season is approaching, the beaches are buzzing, Table Mountain is clear and hikeable, and the whale sharks are cruising the Atlantic. You get world-class kiting and a world-class destination at its absolute best, all in the same week. See the departure dates →
Do I need a wetsuit? expand_more
Yes. The ideal is a full wetsuit 5:4 or 4:3.
How many people? expand_more
Maximum 8 riders per departure — the villa capacity and our coaching ratio are both built around this number. Small groups mean personalised coaching, fast progression, and a genuine expedition feel rather than a group holiday. Apply for your spot →

What Our Cape Town Guests Say

format_quote

"Kiting with Table Mountain behind you and the whole Atlantic in front — I've ridden all over the world and nothing compares to that view. Francesca had me landing my first megaloop attempt by day four."

— Lars H., Copenhagen

format_quote

"The villa was stunning, the sessions were epic, and Cape Town itself is just endlessly incredible. My partner doesn't kite — she did Lion's Head and the Winelands and said it was the best week of her life."

— Sofía R., Madrid
