A shallow, sheltered bay of turquoise flat water stretches for kilometres, protected by a natural reef that keeps the surface glassy while the Egyptian thermal winds fill in reliably every afternoon.
Unlike the crowded resorts of El Gouna, Dahab has kept a bohemian, unhurried character.
